What is the difference between “referrers” and “plays”?

Referrers are other websites that are linking to your video page or loading your video in an external player. Every time a referrer loads the embedded player, or a person clicks the link on the referrer’s website to bring them to your video page, the referrer count increases. Plays, on the other hand, are only counted when someone actually clicks the play button to view your video.
