What Is the Difference Between RDRAM & DDR SDRAM?

0

RDRAM and DDR SDRAM are two forms of data storage used in personal computers. RDRAM is a proprietary technology made by Rambus Inc. for use exclusively in certain Intel compatible motherboards, whereas DDR SDRAM is an “open architecture” that manufacturers may produce without paying royalties to Rambus Inc. According to Tom’s Hardware, Intel began phasing Rambus out in 2003. As of 2010, no new PCs use Rambus memory as DDR is the current standard.
