What is the difference between raw propolis and a concentrate?
Raw propolis has not been cleaned and contains 30 to 50 percent wax, an inert substance. A concentrate is heated so that the wax can be melted out. This process also helps remove heavy metals, bee parts and other extraneous material, leaving a cleaner, highly concentrated resin with all the benefits of the constituents. Propolis naturally contains resins and balsams, essential oils, and pollen as well as minerals and vitamins. It also contains naturally occurring antioxidant bioflavonoids.
