Public Domain Land – Lands which have never left Federal ownership, also, lands in Federal ownership which were obtained by the Government in exchange for public lands or for timber on such lands. Acquired Land – Lands in Federal ownership which are not public lands, having been obtained by the Government by purchase, condemnation, gift, or by exchange.
