What is the difference between Public and Private when using BobcatMail (OWA)?
Public and Private are security setting options that allow you to adjust the time that OWA can be inactive before your logon session ends. The public option is the default and should be used when you are in a public lab or kiosk location. By default, BobcatMail will end your session and you may be forced to re-login after 15 minutes of inactivity. It is important when composing long e-mail messages to save a copy as a draft every 5-10 minutes so that you do not lose your work. The private option extends the inactivity period to 24 hours before your logon session ends. The private option should only be used if you are using BobcatMail on your home or office computer. If you are using BobcatMail in a public lab and forget to log off, you run the risk of someone else accessing your e-mail account if you don’t use the default option of Public or shared computer.
