What is the difference between Property Management and a Letting Agency?

0

Some Companies do both Property Management and operate a Letting Agency. Letting is finding tenants as a one off for owners who are managing their own property. The letting agency charges the potential tenant a fee of one weeks rent plus GST for finding them a home to rent. Some companies charge this fee on properties that they manage. Whilst this was quite common some years ago, the New Zealand market has changed greatly and potential tenants are loathe to pay this letting fee. It therefore seems to take longer to rent a property if charging a letting fee. WE DO NOT CHARGE TENANTS A LETTING FEE.
