What is the difference between programs and activities?
CPD programs are formalized learning sessions offered by education providers, law associations, law firms, government associations, industry groups and others. Programs are designed to facilitate learning in a group setting and usually have a predefined agenda and specific target audience. Activities include a broad range of other, non-program learning methods that can be achieved in a group setting or on an individual basis. In addition to attendance at CPD programs, the following educational activities are eligible for CPD credit: • Participation as a registrant in a college, university or other designated educational institution program, including distance education. • Teaching (to a maximum of 6 hours per year) • Acting as an Articling Principal or mentoring or being mentored or supervising a paralegal field placement (to a maximum of 6 hours per year) • Writing and editing books or articles (to a maximum of 6 hours per year) • Participation in study groups • Educational components
