What is the difference between prefinished and unfinished hardwood flooring?
There are several differences between prefinished and unfinished hardwood flooring. Prefinished flooring is finished in a factory with multiple coats of finish. The cracks in-between the boards are harder to clean because they are not sealed. Unfinished hardwood flooring can be matched to an existing floor and comes in many different widths and species. The cracks in-between the boards are sealed and less dirt gets in. Unfinished flooring will create more dust than the pre-finished. The equipment we use has bags attached to collect a great deal of the dust.
