Pre-nomination is done between birth and the colt’s first birthday. The completed registration application with registration fee must accompany the nomination fee and be received in the ATA office before the colt turns one year old. The pre-nomination is noted on the back of the colt’s registration certificate and entitles the owner to a discount when the colt is presented for inspection. The Nomination for Inspection is just a tool to help us plan inspections. It does not require a fee at the time of nomination. Nomination forms are due by March 1 st of each year in order to schedule that year’s inspections. There is a late fee of $75 if you don’t submit a nomination form by March 1 st . If you have a colt that is pre-nominated for inspection you still must submit the nomination form the year you intend to bring the colt to inspection.
