What is the difference between Post New Message and Reply To This?
Post New Message always appears as the last response in the topic thread, so a “message” will always appear at the end. Reply to this appears within the topic thread, following the message you are replying to. “Messages” should be the main topic of the thread, whilst “replies” allows you respond to a specific point someone has made, and create a “branch-off” conversation. For this reason, “replies” are shown in italic and are indented to show the branching-off. Forum moderators will allow more flexibility for straying off-topic in a “reply”, than in the main “message” thread.
