What is the difference between polyethylene and fiberglass?
Fiberglass is stiffer, which means it can maintain rigidity over large flat areas. Fiberglass is also more brittle on impact. Polyethylene gets its rigidity from compound curves, which lends itself perfectly to the design characteristics of the Ocean Kayak. The impact resistance of polyethylene is remarkable. Additional structural integrity is obtained by joining the top and bottom decks. All of this makes for a boat which is light weight and durable.
