LCD tv’s can get much smaller, like 15, 19, 20, 23, 26, 27, 32, 37, etc.. Whereas plasmas generally are 42in up to i’ve seen 65in. The biggest LCD i’ve seen is 52in. LCD uses different technology than plasma. LCD uses liquid crystals, like a laptop screen, and plasma uses pockets of gas. Plasma runs hotter and uses more electricity. There is also the chance of getting burned-in images on a plasma tv. This is becoming less of an issue, but it can still happen if you leave the same image on the screen for long, especially if it is flashing, such as in a video game. Plasma also has a glass front on it, which can be very reflective. This is extremely annoying when there is light in your room, espeically in dark scenes of TV or movies. LCD tv’s have a non-relfective screen, like that on most laptop screens. Plasma generally has a higher contrast ratio, so blacker blacks and whiter whites.
