What is the difference between pistol and rifle grade steel?
There is no difference… if you are using AR500 for all of your targets. The difference emerges when you have a manufacturer who uses a lower grade steel for handgun targets than with rifle targets. While the lower rated steel is less expensive and is sufficient for most handgun calibers, it will pit and damage when impacted with higher velocity caliber projectiles. AR500 is exceptional for both rifle and handgun shooting, however, it is recommended to separate and designate targets to be used for rifle training and handgun training.
