Pipe made to ASTM D2239 is usually called IPS or Iron Pipe Size. Tubing is usually called CTS or WST, Copper Tube Size or Water Service Tubing. Pipe made to ASTM D3035 is Outside Diameter Controlled and is also classified as IPS, Iron Pipe Size.
