What is the difference between PhD and DEng?
The PhD requires a total of 96 hours. The degree is obtained by completing 64 hours beyond the MS hours requirement. The PhD also requires a written and oral exam, plus a final exam on the dissertation. A DEng degree requires a minimum of 96 hours. Candidates are required to take exams, complete an internship and file a record of study. Accordingly, the PhD degree is research oriented.
