What is the difference between pH and alkalinity?
Alkalinity and ph as a rule are related. The ph will normally indicate the alkali content. Alkalinity is a measure of the salt content of the water, and ph is a quick test to get an indication of the alkalinity level. However, the ph may vary radically from day to day, so the alkalinity test should be performed periodically as a backup check.
