Hello Chloe, I am not sure what state you are from but in NJ we do not have permanent foster care, we do have something called an Independent Living Program where older children, like your self, will stay in foster care until they are 18 years of age and then would be able to decide if they would still like the services they are receiving from the state. Another option is Kinship Legal Guardianship which basically does not terminate parental rights while giving legal custody to another person. Adoption is a permanency goal that the state would strive for if parental rights are terminated, you deserve to be happy and a family that loves and cares for you is important.
