the main difference is that PC DVD disks can hold much more information than PC CD disks, about 10 times more. As long as the drive on your computer is a PC DVD-rom drive you will be able to use either type of disk. If you only have a CD-rom disk drive and you try to use a PC DVD disk, it will do nothing or give you a “cannot read disk” error. Your Sims game wants you to put in the Apt Life disk, because that is the most recently published game. Sims always wants you to use the disk of the most recently published expansion pack you have, not necessarily the last one you installed.
