What is the difference between paint grades?
Coverage, durability and protection are the main differences in paint grades. Lower grades often contain lesser pigment and need more coats to obtain the same coverage as one coat of a high quality paint. High quality paints contain additives to help prevent such things as chalking and mildew growth, and drying agents to speed up dry time. As a result, though high quality paints may cost a bit more, you save in the long run because you need less for proper coverage and they last longer when used over a properly prepared surface.
