A.9. Paid Not Earned (PNE) – applies to 12 month faculty on contract who elect to spread salary over the 12 months, even though they only work 9 months of the academic school year. August 16 to August 15 of the following year is usually designated as the academic school year. So from July 1 thru August 14, is the timeframe that pay is credited for an employee in the system and is indicated as such on the pay advice. However, the employee has not earned the money yet.
