What is the difference between Open Teams and Invite-Only Teams?

An Open Team is just that: open for anyone to join without an invitation. But to join an Invite-Only Team, you must receive an invitation via email from a Challenge Team Leader. Invite-Only teams also have the option of allowing users to request an invite; in that case, the Team Leader is notified that a user would like to join that team, and can extend an invitation if they choose.
