What is the difference between open and recreational league?

0

WCYBS recognizes different skill levels among players. In an effort to accommodate the needs of all players, the league is now offering two formats-recreational and open for 12U. The recreational league is the same format as years past, where a player registers and participates in a draft. All registered players are placed on a team. The open league is typically for players with more advanced skills to play at a more competitive level. In an open league, coaches select players to be on their team, and players may choose if they would like to be considered for a particular team. Some open league teams may play additional tournament games on weekends outside of the league for more competitive play. Tournament play will be at the discretion of each open league coach.
