Online Entry is the initial entry to the race and payment via the internet. This occurs prior to the start of the event. Race Registration is where you show your MTBA (Mountain Biking Australia) licence or purchase a day licence. Its also where you get your race plates and team freebies. This occurs at the event, but prior to the race.
