What is the difference between On Site Assessment Training (OSAT) or Experience Worker Practical Assessment (EWPA)?
On-Site Assessment and Training (OSAT) helps experienced workers get the qualifications to prove they can do the job. It turns their existing skills and experience into a nationally recognised qualification such as an NVQ or SVQ. The whole process is carried out whilst your workforce is on site so they don’t have to take time off to go to college. It is available through a variety of different providers. Experience Workers Practical Assessment (EWPA) is a fast route open through the CITB-ConstructionSkills/City & Guilds awarding body (now known as Construction Awards Alliance). It is available for workers with a minimum of five years experience and who do not need further training. All the skills needed to pass the NVQ are included in one task, which is observed by an approved assessor. This route of entry is currently only available for level 2 qualifications in certain trades.
