What is the difference between NPC and NPHC sororities?
NPC (National Panhellenic Conference) sororities and NPHC (National Pan-Hellenic Council) sororities welcome all women at UT for membership. While both organizations promote the development of women, NPHC sororities are historically African-American. The NPHC membership intake process takes place at the discretion of the chapters, usually during the spring semester while NPC formal recruitment takes place in the fall. You can only sign up for NPC formal recruitment on this website. How much time does it take? When it comes to sorority life, what you get out is what you put in. At a minimum, a member may attend weekly meetings and possibly a social, philanthropic or Panhellenic function, averaging about three hours a week. However, many students spend a great deal of time in leadership roles and other activities such as intramurals, All Campus Events, and sisterhood events.
