What is the difference between “Natural Speech” and “Speech Recognition”?
The term “speech recognition” is generally associated with recognizing a word, such as a number or YES or NO. Natural Speech, on the other hand, is a fundamentally different technology, focusing on the interpretation of expressions. It recognizes that people do not talk in isolated words but in connected expressions, dropping certain words and slurring over others. For example, the written expression “Would you send me a…” becomes “Wadjasemya…” in natural speech (NST).
