What is the difference between my public and private page?
The main difference between your public profile page and your private page is access. That is to say, anyone can see your public page but only friends can see information posted to your private page. Your public page also determines how you can be searched or browsed. If you have your public page set so that your gender is viewable that information will be available to people browsing under that gender. However if you have selected your gender be hidden on your public page people will not find you when browsing your gender. The basic rule is, if it can be seen on your public page it can be used in a search or browsed.
