What is the difference between my junk mailbox and deleted messages?
A. Junk is what’s filtered as SPAM. When you delete it, it goes into Trash or Deleted Messages (which is mail you delete manually). Creating filters for Junk helps establish patterns in the future for automatic recognition, without your having to delete them all by hand. Nowadays, a successive junk mail filter should handle 80-90% of incoming junk mail. Note: It is still necessary to monitor your junk mailbox (or folder) to rescue any “false positives” (mail that shouldn’t have been filtered as junk). It may be easier to sort your junk mailbox by sender, to quickly for known senders.
