What is the difference between my assignment number and person ID number?

In the new payroll system, staff are given two numbers – a Person ID and an assignment number (Personnel Assignment Number or PAN). The Person ID is similar to your old employee number and is your unique identifier. For staff who only have one position in Queensland Health, they will have an assignment number that is the same number as their Person ID. Some staff have more than one position in Queensland Health. If these positions have different conditions, such as different leave entitlements, these staff are referred to as concurrent employees. Under the new payroll system a concurrent employee has an assignment number for each position and receives a payslip for each. For example, a staff member that works as both an admin officer and a nurse will have an assignment number for each of these positions.
