Mullen and ECT are types of tests that determine the strength of corrugated. The Mullen Test measures how many pounds of pressure it takes to puncture a single piece of corrugated. (ex. 200C Flute takes 200 lbs. of pressure on a square inch to burst through the sheet.) The ECT (Edge Crush Test) measures how many lbs of pressure it takes to damage a box when dropped from a certain distance on it’s corner. This Measures Stacking strength. Both types of board tests are very similar in most everyday applications.
