Motion detection is the process of detecting motion by comparing one video frame to another to see if there’s a difference in activity between the video frames. Motion detection detects all and any motion. This can get cumbersome, since it creates a lot of false alerts. Advanced video analytics looks at the motion detected and uses advanced computer algorithms to classify that motion. It can learn the usual motion for a scene like a flag moving or tree moving.
