What is the difference between mitochondria and golgi bodies?
Mitochondria: Structure: sausage shaped organelle, bound by a double membrane, the inside membrane folds forming ‘cristae’ which increase surface area Function: is the location where the latter stages of aerobic respiration occur Golgi Body: Stucture: a series of folded membranes, usually in stacks of six Function: directs the flow of substances in the cell, packages and directs the direction of newly made proteins Essentially mitochondria are the power house of the cell as they provide energy and golgi bodies are the cells post office as they package and send molecules to where they are required.
