What is the difference between Migraine and Stress Headache?
Migraine headaches are chronic debilitating headaches that may be triggered by certain stimuli. They are thought to be due to abnormal blood flow in the head. They can be associated with nausea, vomiting, and visual disturbances. Tension headaches can either be episodic or chronic. Episodic tension headache is usually triggered by an isolated stressful situation; it can generally be treated by over-the-counter pain relievers. Daily stressors, such as high-stress environments, can lead to chronic tension headaches. Treatment of chronic tension headaches usually involves a combination of medical, interventional, and stress-relieving treatments.
