What is the difference between Microanalysis, Chemistry and Toxicology?
The Microscopy Section analyzes small samples of paint, glass, and fibers taken from a crime scene, this type of evidence is also called trace evidence. The Chemistry Section receives the actual suspected controlled substances confiscated from a crime from law enforcement agencies. The Toxicology Section analyzes samples of blood and urine to determine whether or not a controlled substance or alcohol had been ingested by a person.
