What is the difference between mat work and machine work?
Mat work involves a series of floor exercises that target the core muscles stabilizing the pelvis and back. You use your own body as resistance. Machine work is done one-on-one with a trainer or in a small group setting. The machines use springs to offer weight resistance. Clients may commit to mat work, machines, or both, since all the exercises have the same goals. Our instructors would be happy to show you our various pieces of equipment! What is the Reformer? The Reformer is a piece of equipment or machine used in Pilates exercise. The Reformer glides backward and forward on rollers, and through the use of springs and attachments, it provides finely tuned exercise resistance for a wide variety of positions.
