What is the difference between mat classes and private equipment sessions?
Mat classes are large group classes performed on a mat with the occasional use of small props. Mat classes use your body weight as resistance and progress quickly from one exercise to another. Private equipment sessions utilize machines that use springs as resistance. These sessions are focused entirely on the individual student’s needs, progressing at a level that is appropriate for them. Both are integral components of the Pilates repertoire and both are highly encouraged for optimal Pilates results.
