What is the difference between Maine Recycling Corp. and a landfill?
Some states do not currently have a bottle bill(state law that makes distributors responsible for the end processing of their UBC’s). Also, some state’s general recycling programs may not be as promoted as they are in Maine. While Maine Recycling processes UBC’s and other materials for further use, some material still finds it’s way into landfills where it is disposed of by burial. So, in summary, landfills are the final resting place for material, while Maine Recycling takes that same material and processes it for reuse. More Questions?
