Main status refers to those books in an area of the Library known as the Circulating Collection or the Main Stacks located on the 1st Floor. Circulating books are arranged by Dewey Decimal call number and may be checked out for a period of four (4) weeks. Videos and Audiocassette Tapes shelved in the Main collection may be checked out for seven (7) days. Fines will accrue for overdue Circulating items at a rate of 25 cents per day from the due date. Overdue books and fines must be resolved before additional books may be checked out.Reference materials are for use in the Library only and may not be checked out. Primarily, these are reference works such as dictionaries, directories, and encyclopedias. The Reference collection is located on the 2nd Floor arranged in Dewey Decimal call number order.See Handouts for a subject guide and summary of the Dewey Decimal Classification system.
