Students admitted to the MS by research program will be required to do a major bioinformatics related thesis project, involving the application of IT in their domain, in addition to the required course work. Their course may extend beyond two years. In the M Tech program, the emphasis will be on course work. Apart from the core courses, students will have the option to select from a choice of projects and advanced electives.

Difference Between M.S and M.Tech
In M.Tech course duration is 2 years.we r just doing 1 year project but not reserch oriented project .
returning to the M.S the course duration from 2-4 years but it is purely reserch oriented.
