Server is a small server designed to work only inside a LAN and VPN. It can only listen only one particular local IP Address & related Outlook Messenger network users can connect with Link Server. So no user authentication is needed in Link Server. Chat Server is a mega server which runs on the internet, where authorized Link Server & Outlook Messenger Clients can connect with Chat Server from any location. Chat Server routes message between Link Server & Outlook Messenger clients.
