What is the difference between Lincoln Douglas and Team Debate?

0

There are multiple formats for debate. NCFCA uses two formats and a different debate topic for the whole year in each. Lincoln-Douglas is a one-versus-one debate format and takes about 45 minutes. Team debate is a format where two teams of two face off against each other for an extended round of about 1 hour and 10 minutes. In NCFCA, LD usually has a “value” style resolution, whereas team has a “policy” resolution, so some call team debate “team policy,” or TP for short.
