What is the difference between light, medium or golden and dark brown sugars?
Brown sugar is made by either “painting” white granulated sugar with molasses or boiling it together. The degree of brown is a result of how much molasses is added, the strength of the molasses flavor and is seen in the color of your finished baked goods. For best results, always store sugar in an airtight container where the air temperature remains the same, preferably in a cool, dry place.
