What is the difference between Licence and Authorisation?

0

A Licence is issued under the Importation of Animal Products and Poultry Products Order 1980 (as amended) (IAPPPO). This is generally (but not exclusively) for imports of products of animal origin from EU Member States. An Authorisation is issued for imports of products from Third countries under the Products of Animal Origin (Third Country Imports) (England) Regulations 2006. Similar legislation is in place in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
