What is the difference between leased line and dial-up connection for internet ?

Actually a Leased Line is more like a dedicated connection for a company or address. Expensive, but high speed and with no contention ratio (ie you wont be sharing your connection with anyone so you should expect high up and download speeds). There also arent the usual telephone exhange distance limitations with a Leased Line – as the cable can be laid for you.

Leased line Internet connection is through N * 64 kbps dedicated radios or leased lines up to our router, whereas dial-up is straightforward service where customer has to dial our node through modem connected to PSTN. STPI does not provide dial up access to Internet.
