What is the difference between LCD and Plasma?
LCDs consume less power than many other TVs, they are generally light and slim and produce bright images. Are an ideal choice for well lit rooms. Plasmas can have a lifespan of as much as 60,000 hours, that´s 6 hours a day for almost 30 years. Best for Sports and Movies, Plasmas produce fast moving images with unbeatable precision. Plasma advantages 1. Larger screen size availability. 2. Better contrast ratio and ability to render deeper blacks. 3. Better colour accuracy and saturation. 4. Better motion tracking (little or no motion lag in fast moving images). Plasma disadvantages 1. Plasma TVs are more susceptible to burn-in of static images. 2. Plasma TVs generate more heat than LCDs, due to the need to light of phosphors to create the images. 3. Does not perform as well at higher altitudes. 4.
