What is the difference between lava and magma?

0

There really is no difference between magma and lava except that lava is the term that is used when magma that is found below the Earth, comes up through a vent and erupts onto the surface.  They both are the same in properties as lava and magma are red hot molten rock that originates from the same place; deep within the Earth.  As the magma flows, it finds its way through fissures and vents located in the Earth’s crust and eventhough it hasn’t changed in properties, the magma finds its way to the surface where it undergoes a name change, lava .
