What is the difference between kelvin and celcius scale??

0

Absolute Zero. The Celsius scale is set at the freezing point of water 0 degrees C to the melting point of water at 100 degrees C. The Fahrenheit scale was invented first and independently of the Celsius scale. Kelvin is based on 0 as absolute zero which is 273.15 degrees C below 0 degrees Celsius. It uses the same scale though, unlike the Fahrenheit scale. Scientists prefer to use Kelvin since it is based on an absolute; absolute zero. That temperature is unreachable, but we have gotten down to a few fractions of a degree toward it. The average temperature of deep space varies from 3-4 degrees Kelvin. Temperature is a measure of the speed that the atoms inside of it are moving. In a gas they are moving so fast that they can’t stick together. In a solid the atoms are moving so slow that they stay together. At absolute zero atom movement would stop entirely and that is a theoretical level.
