What is the difference between JDR’s “first run” shoes and other warehouses’ “make up” product?

When a brand sells “make up” product, they change the style just enough and take some of the quality of materials and manufacturing out of the item. The “make up” product is not the same as the “in line, first run” product. Secondly, “make up” product may be a style(s) from the previous year. Lastly, the customer cannot compare the brands “make up” shoes to the “in line” shoe because they are not the same. Department stores and specialty stores do not carry the “make up” product. Consequently, the customer gets a cheaper product that looks something like the in line item, or it may even be last years style.
