What is the difference between ISDN and a Plain Old Telephone Service (POTS) line?
ISDN uses digital technology instead of analog signals that POTS lines use. ISDN can dramatically speed up transfer of information over the Internet versus connections via analog modems. ISDN/BRI connections (128kbps or 112kbps) are typically 3 – 4 times faster than most dial-up connections (26.4 – 48kbps) over a POTS line.
