What is the difference between IROP and SURF Abroad?
IROP offers juniors the opportunity to prepare during the academic year for a summer research experience abroad. Through IROP, you conduct preliminary research, study the appropriate foreign language, and engage in cultural orientation before you ever set foot on the plane. SURF Abroad is for students who have already prepared themselves for research in their destination country and, in some cases, are planning to study or are already studying in the destination country.
